Overview
With such a varied skill set you’ll possess qualities highly desired by employers, particularly in remote and rural areas, where there is a known gap in the workforce.
Initially you will explore core learning across all nursing fields so you’re confident in providing essential care to everyone before focussing on your primary and secondary fields of practice in your final years.
Practice learning is integrated throughout the Nursing - Dual Registration in Adult and Children and Young People (Hons) course from Robert Gordon University, so you graduate as an experienced nurse ready to start your career.
Job Prospects
You will have eligibility for NMC registration in both Adult and Children and Young People fields which will increase your employability particularly in the very remote and rural areas including the Islands as the skill mix addresses local healthcare needs. Dual Registration is also seen to have value in general practice and emergency and unplanned care.
You will have the potential to work in the UK as well as abroad across a range of health and social care settings in general or specialist services such as intensive care and high dependency units, operating theatres, outpatient departments, in people’s homes, health centres, occupational health settings and voluntary agencies.
