The fast-moving digital media industry offers exciting employment prospects whether you're interested in interactive design, video, animation, photography or graphic design. On this Digital Media course from Canterbury Christ Church University, you'll develop the technical skills and creative flair to help you become a dynamic, work-ready graduate.
You'll learn the theory of multimedia digital production and you'll develop strong practical skills with professional standard hardware and software including Adobe CC and Maya.
You'll also be able to book equipment including video cameras, digital SLRs, and sound recording equipment to complete your project work and will be supported by specialist technicians. All of these on-campus activities will be conducted in accordance with the most up-to-date Health and Safety guidance.

All about the course
The course is based around three areas of study/practice:
- interactive design (including web design and augmented reality)
- moving image production (including 2D and 3D animation, mobile film making, visual effects and motion graphics)
- still image production (including graphic design, visual communication, digital imaging and photography)
Following up-to-date Health and Safety guidance, you will use specialist facilities including computer suites and professional video and sound recording equipment. You'll have the opportunity to study modules in a range of multimedia skills such as web design, computer animation (2D and 3D), digital imaging, visual communications, motion graphics and digital entrepreneurship. You will also experience a range of online teaching activities that will enhance your ability to work virtually.
Your practical skills development will be supported by modules in the theory of digital media.

The Digital Media course is designed to enable you to define a creative solution to a specific issue or tasks in a number of different professional contexts. In this sense, the skills you will gain on the Digital Media course are applicable in a broad range of environments, and are transferable across a wide range of careers.
