
Overview
This Motive Power Technician (Diesel) (Co-op) Graduate Diploma delivered at Fanshawe College Canada will give you the necessary knowledge and the opportunity to apply your new skills through a co-op term.
Through the diesel mechanic courses, you will learn about internal combustion compression ignition engines, power trains, and modern heavy duty systems. Students will also be able to communicate effectively, diagnose and solve problems logically and undertake responsible work tasks with minimum supervision.
Graduates of this program will have the skills to find work within multiple industries. With your diesel mechanic training, you will also have the option to work for motive power equipment dealerships. This program will prepare you to enter the workplace in the Truck and Coach apprenticeship.

- ntario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or a mature applicant.
- Students who do not have a high school diploma may wish to consider taking the Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) grade 12 Equivalency Certificate. Alternatively, applicants may choose to do the one-year Pre-Technology preparatory program that provides all the admission requirements for this program.
- Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English
