Overview

Mechanical Engineering Technician - Automated Manufacturing (Optional Co-op) from Conestoga College curriculum includes: the application of numerical control (NC) programming concepts; the utilization of CAD/CAM techniques to integrate design and manufacturing; an introduction to the world of robotics; an introduction to designing power-transmitting devices and developing; the application of quality assurance process planning and production control techniques to the solution of practical manufacturing problems. Students learn about the connected enterprise and industry 4.0 concepts, use 3D CAD and CAM programmes, as well as additive manufacturing applications.

Careers

Graduates are prepared to assume the responsibilities of a design draftsperson or CAD system operator, jig and fixture designer, quality control applications technician, and programmer of robotic and numerical controlled machines.
