Overview
During the Game - Design programme from Conestoga College you will learn how to create games, apps, and simulations for use in the games industry, entertainment, education, and beyond. Conestoga's Game - Design programme provides industry-standard software and technology access and exposure to some of Canada's fastest-growing tech companies.
Taught by faculty with extensive experience in the game world, this programme is designed to provide you with strong skills and knowledge for game design, gameplay programming, and employment across various parts of the production pipeline. Through individual and collaborative projects, the programme offers you the opportunity to build a portfolio of original work and a field placement to help you take your first steps into the growing game industry.
Once you graduate, you can apply for roles in the industry such as computer systems developer and programmer, software developer and programmer, web developer and programmer, graphic designer and illustrator.
Careers
- This credential is designed to provide students with a strong set of skills and knowledge, to either enter a career in game design or as a level designer, environmental artist, character developer, or to pursue further credentials associated with game art or development.

General requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status (See Mature Student definition for details.)
- Grade 12 compulsory English, C (65%) or U (55%), or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1250), or equivalent
- All applicants who meet the academic strength requirements (65%) must attend a program information session and present a portfolio of their creative work.
