Manufacturing Engineering Technology - Welding and Robotics (Optional Co-op) from Conestoga College curriculum builds on welding technology with a broader knowledge in manufacturing methods and industrial automation. The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) conditionally recognizes this programme as meeting all the academic requirements for certification in the Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) category

Careers

Graduates are prepared for employment in custom, batch and high-volume manufacturing in the metal fabrication and welding industrial sector in capacities of quality assurance, production planning, robotic programming, automation systems integration, technical sales, manufacturing management and industrial engineering.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status (See Mature Student definition for details.)

Grade 12 compulsory English, C or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1250)

Grade 12 Mathematics, C or U (MCT4C or MHF4U or MCV4U or MDM4U), or equivalent, or Conestoga College Preparatory Mathematics for Technology & Apprenticeship (MATH1385)

English Proficiency

Minimum grade required for:

MCT4C 55%

MHF4U, MCV4U 55%

MDM4U 70%

MATH1385 55%

MCT4C is strongly recommended

Note : admission requirements

Applicants not meeting the math admission requirements may arrange for testing to assess mathematical ability.
Grade 11 or 12 Physics or Conestoga College Preparatory Physics, technical shops/labs, technical drafting, electricity, electronics are desirable but not mandatory.
