Learn the skills to turn your inspiration into games from leading video game creators by taking this Video Game Design and Animation program at Toronto Film School. 

Overview

In this Video Game Design and Animation program at Toronto Film School, you will explore the entire 2D and 3D game production process with a faculty of active creators with games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, GTA 4, and Max Payne 3 to their credit. Modelled on the collaborative environments of the video game industry, you will design and produce mid-large scale games with peer artists.

Intellectual Property

You’ll own everything you create, from your art to scripts and games. You’ll have the opportunity to release your games even before you graduate and keep 100% of the profits.

Cross Collaboration

You’ll have a unique opportunity for cross-industry collaboration and networking. Creating mid-large scale games, your design team will work with student programmers in Video Game Design & Development. You’ll also produce video game concepts with writing students and character voiceovers with acting students.

Industry Professionals

You’ll be mentored by professional video game designers and active industry leaders with a pulse on the latest trends and practices. You’ll also share their invaluable insider connections and professional networks.

  • When submitting your transcripts, please make sure that you have successfully completed a Grade 11 visual arts course (Courses in Grade 11 Computers/Digital Media are also recommended, but not required).
  • We want to hear your thoughts on the gaming industry! Submit a short essay (300–500 words) outlining your personal and career goals in video games. We’ll be looking for your overall understanding of the video game industry and how you envision yourself building a gaming career. We encourage you to include major Canadian video game production companies, various skill sets of a design and development team, your ideal entry-level position after graduating, and growth trends in industry careers. Please note, your short essay will not be returned.
