Overview

European Studies allows you to bring together courses from different subjects that share a focus on Europe.

You can choose from three streams within European Studies: European Cultures and Languages; European History and Politics; and Medieval and Early Modern European Studies.

In addition to courses in European languages and cultures, you can choose courses from Art History, Ancient History and Classical Studies, History, Politics and International Relations, Philosophy and Theological and Religious Studies.

Structuring your major in European Studies programme at the University of Auckland

You can take a major in European Studies as one of your two BA majors (a double major). You will need to pass at least 120 points (eight courses) towards each of your majors, including at least 45 points (three courses) at Stage III.
