Overview

At the English Literature and History (joint honours) programme at the Oxford Brookes University University you will be able to choose from a selection of modules from both of these courses to create a programme that is tailor made for you. 

In the English Literature  programme you will develop the core skills which you will use throughout the rest of your degree. You can choose some modules outside your core subject and even learn a new language, for free. You'll study a range of optional modules allowing you to specialise in areas of literary study that most interest and stimulate you.

When you choose History at Oxford Brookes, you’re choosing to explore everything from the racist origins of modern science, to the use of food, cartoons and landscapes as primary sources. You’ll dive into the social, cultural and political ideas of our world today, including: 

• crime
• gender
• warfare

• nationalism

Career prospects:
