Overview
Situated within a few metres of the sea, with access to diverse habitat types and marine animals, it offers the ideal location for field work, experiments and analysis in estuaries, on the seashore and at sea.
This Marine Biology With Foundation Year (Hons) programme from Bangor University provides an alternative route to undergraduate study if, for example, you cannot meet entry requirements or would benefit from a further year of academic preparation.

On successful completion of the foundation year, you will join Year 1 of the BSc (Hons) Marine Biology degree programme. This is ideal preparation for careers in research, conservation, marine resource management, fisheries and aquaculture, government advisory bodies, think tanks, the scientific media, ecotourism and much more.
Many of our graduates go on to work in conservation, consultancy, teaching, and research. Their employers include Natural Resources Wales, Environment Resources Management, MarineSpace Ltd, Operation Wallacea, the World Wildlife Fund, and Viking Expeditions, to name just a few.
