You will study a wide range of factors – natural and caused by human beings – ranging from the lunar cycle, solar system, tidal waves and water levels to the interaction between ice and oceans and the habitability of other planets.
Careers
As a graduate of this Ocean and Geophysics (Hons) degree from Bangor University , you’ll be prepared for careers, in both industry and academia, in marine renewables, climate change research, offshore survey, coastal zone management and broadcast media. You’ll graduate with a range of transferrable skills, including analytical problem solving, data collection and analysis, teamwork, organising and communicating information.
Graduates gain employment in the marine sector in civil or coastal engineering and consultancy or environmental consultancy, for example. They work with government laboratories and agencies, such as the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Environment Agency and the Natural Environmental Research Council.
