Overview

The Computer Science with Foundation Year (Hons) programme from Bangor University prepares you for degree-level study, introducing you to essential computer science, including programming and mathematics for computing, as well as academic and research skills.

Strong links with industry, including Arm and Booking.com, provide opportunities for guest speakers and work on ‘live’ projects with industry.

Large specialist network laboratory. Practical in focus, you apply your learning as the course progresses – learning Python to aid data analysis, for example.

Careers

The Computer Science graduates have gone on to work in software development, database administration, and network administration. They have found roles, for example, as a software engineer, assistant network manager, digital engagement lead, business systems manager, computing technician, ICT consultant, platform engineering and as developers specialisting in C++ and Java. You can also continue your studies at master’s level.
