At Bangor University , our goal is to help you find your voice, critically and creatively, as you study and practise a wide range of genres, styles and forms of writing and media. Studying Media and Creative Writing in combination, you’ll consider creative production and practice as a reader, writer, producer, consumer and critic.

You'll learn by doing with access to industry-standard digital media equipment and creative spaces that bring ideas to life. Our Arts and Innovation centre, Pontio, hosts our annual media showcase and its cinema runs a range of industry events by the likes of the British Film Institute and Film Wales Network.

Careers

With a portfolio of work to demonstrate your technical and creative skills in writing, editing, proofing, blogging, and publishing, you’ll be equipped for careers across the media, cultural and creative industries.

Your degree could lead to roles as a freelance, in consulting, copywriting, journalism, public relations, publishing, broadcasting, advertising and even presenting.

This Media Studies and Creative Writing (Hons) degree course from Bangor University go on to enter a range of careers, often in the creative and cultural industries, the arts, education, and digital communications sectors. Some choose to embark on postgraduate study to train as researchers and lecturers in higher education.
