Overview

As you explore a variety of creative writing techniques and forms, you’ll also learn a modern language, choosing either French or Spanish, and spend a year abroad fully immersed in the language and culture of a country where your chosen language is spoken.

Guided by published writers, poets and researchers, you will study and practise creative writing across a range of genres, forms, and media, from the traditional through to the experimental. You will discover your unique strengths as a writer and find new ways to engage creatively with different audiences alongside this Creative Writing and Modern Languages (Hons) degree from Bangor University .

At the same time, you will learn and develop your competence in writing, speaking and comprehension in your chosen modern language. You can also explore historical and cultural aspects relating to your chosen language and the communities that speak it, such as literature, film, contemporary issues or politics.

This degree in Creative Writing and Modern Languages prepares you to write and communicate creatively and effectively to different audiences and in a wide variety of styles, tones, formats and at least one second language.
