Overview

This programme is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and cutting-edge techniques in cell and molecular biology. Students will develop a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through a combinaton of rigorous coursework, hands-on laboratory experiences, and research projects.

The Cell and Molecular Biology (Hons) program from University Putra Malaysia also emphasises critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and scientific inquiry, encouraging students to explore current research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field. Graduates of this progarmme will be well-prepared for further studies in cell and molecular biolog or related disciplines, as well as for careers in research, healthcare, biotechnology and other scientific industries.

The program spans eight semesters (four years) with a minimum of 126 credits required for graduation. It utilizes Student-Centered Learning (SCL) methods, blending theory and practical experience through lectures, tutorials, seminars, industrial training, study visits, case studies, fieldwork, and research projects.
