Overview
The Psychology With Sociology (Hons) degree course from Edinburgh Napier University allows you to combine the study of psychology with sociology. Examine, investigate and understand human life and experiences while developing a detailed understanding of the social world, the complexities of human relationships and social forces.
The course is made up of around 75% psychology and 25% sociology.
Course details
You'll develop a detailed understanding of the social world, the relationships that operate within it at both an individual and a group level, and the social forces that act on us all: knowledge that can be particularly useful to employers across all sectors.
You'll develop a range of practical, intellectual, research and transferable skills including psychological and social research methods, group working, communication, critical thinking and problem solving. You'll also gain the skills to source, use and interpret information, design experiments and use related software.
Career and further study opportunities
You'll find work in social and helping professions with opportunities from personnel manager to youth worker, in areas such as marketing and market research, occupational therapy, sales, and personnel management, or you can progress to postgraduate study.
With a postgraduate qualification, you can enter a specialist area such as:
