
Overview
At the BDes in Graphic Design (Hons) from University of Dundee you will be encouraged to explore, experiment, and innovate as you learn how to turn your ideas into high quality design concepts.
This course is a balance of digital and print media. You'll gain skills in both traditional and contemporary practice - from screen printing and bookbinding to using the Adobe suite of products and laser cutting.
Working with the industry partners, you'll gain an understanding of contemporary branding and marketing design, and develop skills in typographic/editorial design, print, website, social media, and motion graphic design.
This course will provide you with a working environment that mirrors contemporary professional practice, including a dedicated work desk in one of the shared studio spaces.
Careers and opportunities
Many graduates from this course have gone on to have success in the design industry. Alumni include lead visual designers with Google and Apple, as well as senior designers and design directors at Nike, the BBC, Sky, and ITV.
In addition to specific design skills, you'll also have gained transferable skills, such as the ability to understand your audience, solve problems, and communicate.
