The discipline of Civil Engineering at the Northwestern Polytechnical University was established in 1985, which is one of the key disciplines at NPU. The program of civil engineering is listed as the characteristic specialty in Shaanxi Province, China. Currently, there are 40 staff members, including 1 professor selected by “National 1000 Young Talents Program”, 7 professors, 13 associate professors and senior engineers and 20 Master-degree advisers. Students need to gain at least 143 credits in four years to obtain the Bachelor degree of Engineering. The courses are divided into compulsory courses (e.g., Calculus, Linear Algebra, College Physics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Mechanical Mapping, P.E., Theoretical mechanics, Mechanics of Material, Structure Mechanics, Building Materials, Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Design of Concrete Structure and Masonry Structure, Design of Steel Structure, Basic components and Principles of Concrete) and optional courses (e.g. Chinese Language, Chinese Civilization, Frontier of Civil Engineering, General Introduction to Civil Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer aided design, Green Building and Estimation, Chinese Traditional Building Design, Introduction to Intelligent Transportation System).Programme Structure

- Must hold valid foreign(outside P.R. China) citizenship(Must hold Passport/Citizenship certificate from at least 4 years and 2-year "Proof of Residence" at their country in recent 4 years.
- Possess good physical and mental health.
- Aged between 18-30 years with cut-off date on 01 September 2021(Applicant under 18 years of age needs to produce valid certificate of guardian residing in China.
- Have either completed or will complete final year of high school before registration at NPU.
- Possess good academic results.
