Overview

The aim of the study in the four-year Civil Engineering program at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava is to prepare graduates for activities in all areas of construction activities for which they acquire the relevant theoretical and professional knowledge and skills.

The study of specialization, thanks to the previous joint study, allows the student flexibility in the possibility of transition to any field of construction activities.

In the fourth year, in addition to specialized vocational subjects, students work on projects related to their final work. Study of the study program is completed by verification of knowledge from two thematic areas resulting mainly from profiling subjects and defens of the final bachelor thesis.

Graduate's knowledge

As part of the joint study, the graduate, in addition to theoretical subjects (mathematics, physics, descriptive geometry), completes professional subjects in the field of building construction, engineering, transport and geotechnical buildings, building materials, building geodesy, building services and urban engineering.

Within the compulsory elective courses, the student will deepen his education in the selected specialization (Building and Industrial Construction, Urban Engineering, Building Materials and Building Diagnostics, Transport Construction, Geotechnics and Underground Construction, Building Environment and Building Construction).

The graduate will find employment in design offices as well as on construction sites or building offices.
