The Social Work - Inner City Program at William Norrie Centre is a professional program designed to prepare generalists who are knowledgeable of social work theories who can demonstrate skills related to practice, research, and social policy analysis.
Outcomes
Students at the University of Manitoba will:
- learn firsthand how to provide professional practice through a social service delivery system.
- be prepared for ethical, competent, critically reflective, innovative, antioppressive, accountable and effective social work practice at all levels.

You may be eligible if you:
- are at least 21 years old at the application deadline
- fall below the low income cut off bracket (LICO)
- are a resident of the City of Winnipeg
- have 27 credit hours or less of university level course work
Applicants demonstrate suitability based on the assessment of an autobiography, references, a face-to-face interview and interactive in-service that indicate:
- inner city experience
- volunteer or lived experience
- community involvement
- suitability for the social work profession
- Applicants must also participate in a reading and writing comprehension test.
