A degree in City Planning and Environmental Policy (Hons) at University College Dublin provides you with strong analytical skills, as well as the ability to think critically about development and environmental issues. This degree provides the ﬁrst steps to pursuing a career as a professional planner, urban designer or environmental policy expert.

Career:

The ﬁnal step towards your career as a planner is to complete a one-year specialist Master’s in Planning in UCD: the Master of Regional & Urban Planning, the MSc in Urban Design and Planning or the MSc in Environmental Policy. This will ensure you gain the necessary professional accreditations, including that of the Irish Planning Institute and the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Applicants presenting the Irish Leaving Certificate (established) must have six recognised subjects, selected according to course requirements, and must obtain Grade H5, or better, in two subjects and Grade O6/H7, or better, in the remaining four subjects. For all courses in UCD, this must include Irish (unless exempt) and English.
