Careers

Special effects make-up artists focus on working on actors appearances for their role on screen in everything from ageing, to injury simulation, or even monster make-up, anything from what a regular make-up artist may be responsible for. This specialist role is key for many film and television productions, but can also extend to theatre, events and live entertainment.

A minimum of two completed A-levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma at MMM or BTEC Diploma at D*D, a T-Level Merit, or equivalent qualification, or a combination of qualifications which comply with the minimum entry requirement of 104 UCAS points.

Alternative entry to this course is available through the Design Foundation Year.

Direct entry into the second or third years may be considered for this course.

Applicants will be required to submit a digital mini portfolio providing evidence of artistic aptitude and potential and may be required to attend an interview, this will form an important part of the selection process.
