Overview

Through a combination of academic study and practical investigation you will learn to prevent, treat and rehabilitate soft tissue injuries. You will also build the ethical and social awareness needed to work in this field. Together we will consider how to decide when an athlete is ready to return to play after an injury - an issue which is hotly debated by players, coaches, medical professionals and the media. We approach sports therapy and injury rehabilitation from various perspectives, as you learn to manage and prevent injury at all levels of sport.

We work with an extensive network of sports clubs and organisations, giving you the opportunity to gain work experience and carry out research in sport settings. These community partners also contribute to your learning, with a guest lecture or case study from an industry professional on every module.

Career

You will graduate with the knowledge and practical experience to help people prevent or recover from sport injury. The skills you develop on this course will also benefit you in a range of other careers in sport and health. This includes critical thinking, communication, working with clients and fieldwork.
