The Healthcare Science (Respiratory and Sleep Physiology) (Hons) course at the University of Wolverhampton combines and integrates both academic and work-based training in order to provide you with the practical skills and underpinning knowledge to fulfil the role as a Healthcare Science Practitioner in Respiratory and Sleep Physiology.
Key facts
- Knowledge of the normal structure and function of the human body will be developed so that you can appreciate the clinical abnormalities that occur as a result of disease.
- You’ll learn how to use specialist diagnostic equipment, interpret clinical results and be able to understand how test results are used to plan subsequent treatment pathways.
- Clinical competence will be developed through integrated work-based placements (sourced by the University) and our on-site clinical skills laboratory.

- Graduates from the course will also be eligible to apply for entry onto the Scientific Training Programme (STP) where they will be able to continue their training at masters level.
