About

Teacher Education in Spanish is a four-year programme at HU University of Applied Science Utrecht in an international setting that joins our successful international Language Education programmes for English and German, as well as French. You will be taught in English and Spanish by experienced lecturers and get to enjoy Utrecht's vibrant student life. You will have frequent and intensive contact with the Spanish-speaking world, even spending three months there in year 2. Internships at Dutch schools are also a vital and highly educational part of the programme.

Academic Requirements

General Requirements

Dutch nationals need a relevant Dutch high school diploma. If you have graduated Dutch vocational school (MBO) or are an international student, additional requirements may apply.

Non-native Spanish speakers need to produce proof of CEFR level A2 or higher. All students need to be able to study in English, with a proven CEFR level of at least B1.

Admission Requirements for International Students

The Admission Office needs a copy of your diploma and transcript for the official diploma evaluation. You have to pass an English language test and an interview may be part of your admission procedure.

Holland Scholarship

The Holland Scholarship is a € 5,000 scholarship aimed at non-EEA students starting their first year of higher education in the Netherlands. 

HU Excellent Scholarship and HU Talent Scholarship

For non-EEA students in their second year of university or beyond, we offer two different scholarships, the HU Excellent Scholarship (HES) and the HU Talent Scholarship (HTS). Allocation depends on your previous results.
