English Language and Literature TED University

Overview

In the first year of English Language and Literature degree at TED University, our students will lay the foundation for their literary journeys with courses such as "History of English Literature I-II" and "Literary Genres and Terms." Furthermore, "Advanced English for Academic Purposes" will equip them with the language skills necessary for academic proficiency, and "Critical Perspectives on Humanity" will encourage them to understand human experiences and develop their empathy. Our programme, designed with an emphasis on the holistic development of our students, also includes courses that provide students with practical experience. For example, "Community Service Practices" will encourage students to contribute to society, while "Digital Competence" will equip them with the essential skills to navigate the digital age.

Key Facts

As they progress to upper grades, our students will take courses that will allow them to develop their areas of expertise, such as "Cultural Studies," "Introduction to Fiction," "Mythology," and "Theatrical Traditions." They will have the freedom to choose departmental electives aligned with their interests, exploring topics such as "Creative Writing," "Science Fiction and Fantasy," "War and Violence in Literature," "The Other in Literature," "Gender Studies," "Gothic," and "Satire." These courses will allow our students to explore the fascinating areas of literature and its myriad impacts on society.
