Overview
The Law (Scots and English Dual Qualifying) (Hons) from University of Dundee . Qualifying is best suited to Scottish students, and you can change between the two until the end of second year.
You do not need to apply for both Scots and Dual degrees.
If you graduate with this degree, you have a choice of where you can study for your postgraduate professional qualification. This will give you a significant competitive advantage in the marketplace.
The qualifying route for solicitors in England and Wales is changing. The centralised ‘Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam’ (SQE) will be replacing the Qualifying Law Degree (QLD).
If you accept your place on our qualifying LLB English Law by 31 August 2021, you will have the option of following either the QLD route or the SQE route, which opens from November 2021. If you take up a place after 1 September 2021, you will have to take the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination route.
Careers
The university has close links with employers and they offer programmes to support and develop your employability.
We run an annual Law Fair which attracts law firms and employers from around the UK and further afield. Law firms also regularly visit the law school on an individual basis for recruitment purposes.
Accreditation
This course is fully accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for England and Wales, the Bar Council and the Law Society of Northern Ireland. When you graduate you will have full flexibility in deciding where to complete your legal training.
