Overview
How well will the European Union be able to withstand the rising tide of populism? How can we ensure that countries and companies tackle climate change? What influence do technological developments have on politics?
During the Bachelor of Political Science - Global Politics programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam , you will study how societies are organised politically and at what level decisions are made.
You will delve into topics such as the power and powerlessness of the EU and the influence of new media. In our close-knit, yet international community, you have ample freedom to choose the scale on which you want to change the world.
Start your career
As a political scientist, you can make a big impact. Exactly how big is up to you. Some students aspire to make a difference at the national level, while others want to play a role on the international stage. Sometimes, it is local changes that bring about much more far-reaching changes. As a graduate of Political Science, you are aware of the power relations at play and are constantly trying to understand them. You can find work at a government institution, in a social organisation, or in the business sector.
Possible positions:
