Your first year modules will cover the main areas of business. You’ll consider how organisations make use of available resources, people, finance and materials, as well as how businesses respond to market requirements.

In your second and third year you will develop the knowledge you gained in your first year and learn how to apply problem solving and decision making to a range of business situations. Change management is a key part of all business today and we teach you about dealing with conflict and changing organisational cultures, to gain maximum effectiveness for the organisation. We also teach you economic principles and analytical skills, to make sure you know how to research markets, prepare reports and drive overall organisational success.

Careers

• This course offers a wide range of career options in general management and will also act as a solid basis for a professional qualification like the Chartered Management Institute or the Institute of Leadership and Management. In recent years, graduates have entered marketing, human resource management, and operations management in the public and private sectors. Many have set up their own successful businesses.
