Overview
During this Psychology with Criminology (Hons) course from London South Bank University , you will think critically about how laws are made and how social structures shape both crime and responses to crime.
In addition to engaging with criminological theories and topical crime and justice issues, this course provides you with a solid base of knowledge in Psychology and an understanding of human behaviour, feelings and interactions.
As a criminology student at LSBU you will be able to engage in a series of employability events. Criminology courses open pathways to careers in a variety of settings including probation, policing, the prison service, NGOs, local authorities, the voluntary sector, youth offending teams, teaching, social work and administration.
You will be encouraged to attend and participate in these events to enhance your learning experience and meet with researchers, practitioners and campaigners.
Employability
As well as enhancing your understanding of human behaviour and thought processes, this course will help you become a more persuasive communicator - a desirable skill for employers.
With an accredited degree and an appropriate postgraduate qualification you could go on to be a chartered psychologist in health, clinical, forensic, child and educational or occupational psychology. You’re also equipped for a career in counselling, teaching, the probation and courts services, market research, HR or business – there’s no such thing as a traditional career path for psychology graduates.
