Overview
Mainz University of Applied Sciences provide you with a knowledge base that is as broad as possible and prepare you to study abroad with the English vocabulary of the construction sector. This bachelor's degree program in International Civil Engineering trains you to work in cross-border engineering and construction companies, as well as in governmental and international authorities and organizations.
Our program is the only civil engineering Bachelor‘s degree program in Germany that features an integrated and tuition-free year of study abroad. Our partner universities are located e.g. in Australia, Columbia, Denmark, Finland, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, USA, ... .
The academic degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in the construction sector is awarded after completion of the seven-semester degree program.
Professional prospect
As a graduate of the bachelor's degree program of International Civil Engineering, a broad range of professional prospects are open to you. The construction and foreign language competency you have acquired enable you to work in the traditional occupational fields in the construction industry, in medium-sized construction companies, in engineering companies focusing on design and planning, and in the public building administration. In addition, new lines of work are emerging at globally operating companies and organizations.
Study Path
The modules in the first to fourth semesters are compulsory modules and are attended by all students in the Civil Engineering and International Civil Engineering Degree programs. The six modules in each semester all earn five ECTS points and should be equal in terms of learning efforts. The modules of the first to fourth semesters are offered each semester.
In the first section (first and second semesters) you learn the mathematical and technical foundations of civil engineering.
In the second section (third and fourth semesters) you will be dealing with the core topics of civil engineering. These consist of construction, structural engineering, planning and the environment.
It is necessary to have successfully passed all of the modules in the first to fourth semesters to be able to begin a stay at a university or a company abroad in your fifth or sixth semester.
Double Degree Option
Particularly committed students can obtain a second Bachelor's degree from our partner university Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in the USA. Additionally, we offer 3 DAAD scholarships of 1150 €/month for 12 months for the Double Degree program with our partner university Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
International Study And Training Partnership With The Universidad Del Norte (Uninorte) In Barranquilla/Colombia
The project “Mainz-Uninorte: Partnership for Sustainable Construction” strengthens the cooperation between Mainz University of Applied Sciences and the Universidad del Norte in Colombia. Building on an existing partnership, the project aims to promote academic exchange as well as joint teaching and research in the field of sustainable construction and international civil engineering practice. 3 students enrolled in our program will receive a monthly DAAD scholarship of 1225 €/month for 10 months.
