This information can be delivered in many different ways: from using a network-based technology such as the web to using personal computers and mobile devices. Information can thus be delivered in many different media (multimedia). The multimedia degree aims to provide students with the theoretical and technical know-how needed to build information products that use a variety of media and delivery systems.

Programmers, web designers, animation specialists, video editors and electronic artists. The Multimedia degree from University of Pretoria prepares candidates for positions at any of the following content producers: paper publications, television, radio, phone technologies and the web. Graduates can become coders and work for programming companies. Applicants with school-leaving qualifications other than the South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Independent Examination Board (IEB) should meet the following admission requirements for undergraduate studies at the University of Pretoria.
The first requirement to study a bachelor’s degree in South Africa is a Universities South Africa (USAf) exemption. USAf coordinates and issues exemption certificates based on the prescribed requirements stipulated in the gazetted exemption regulation. All applicants who obtained a school-leaving qualification other than the South African NSC or IEB, must submit a Certificate of Complete Exemption* or Foreign Conditional Exemption obtainable from USAf. The University of Pretoria no longer accepts exemption based on mature age.
