Overview
Throughout the Aviation - Business Administration BBA program from University of the Fraser Valley you'll take a combination of flight training, aviation theory, and academic courses. The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) – Aviation program requires 34 academic courses and Transport Canada certifications and licenses to complete. You complete your flight training at an external flight training provider of your choice and you have the flexibility to switch flight schools if needed. You can complete Transport Canada Aviation certifications, licenses, and ratings prior to, during, or after completing academic course requirements.Required Transport Canada licenses and ratings include Private Pilot’s license, Commercial Pilot’s license, Instrument Rating, and one of Multi-Engine or Flight Instructor Rating.You also build an academic foundation through UFV courses in business and economics supplemented by courses in science, English, social science, and the humanities to prepare you to assume management responsibilities in the aerospace industry.
Career opportunities:
- According to Boeing's Pilot and Technician Outlook, between now and 2038, demand for pilots will grow, as airlines across the globe expand their fleets and older pilots retire. The largest growth in pilot demand is projected in the Asia Pacific region, with a need for 266,000 new pilots. Europe will need 148,000 pilots, North America 212,000, Latin America 54,000, the Middle East 68,000, Africa 29,000, and Russia/Central Asia 27,000.
- After graduation, you may fly planes for corporate travel or charter flights for one of Canada's 800 on-demand aviation service providers. Or you may work as a flight instructor, medevac pilot, airline courier, or travel tourism pilot.
- Once you have flight hours under your belt, you may fly jumbo jets for major airlines, serve as a corporate jet captain, or become something more unique like an aerial fire ranger. You can also leverage your administrative skills to pursue a career as an airport

General requirements
All applicants must meet ONE of the following:
- B.C. high school graduation or equivalent;
- Or completion of a minimum of nine UFV or transferable post-secondary credits with a minimum 2.00 GPA (C average) based on all credits attempted;
- Or a minimum of 19 years of age by the start of the first class;
- Or, for admission into preparatory level programs only, a minimum of 17 years of age and out of high school for at least one year by the start of the semester.
- A C+ final grade in one of English 12, English 12 First Peoples, AP English, or IB English.
- Complete your application
- Your high school transcript(s) and proof of graduation if you have graduated from high school, or a copy of your interim high school transcript(s) if you are currently in high school
- Your English language score (TOEFL, IELTS, LPI)
- Your passport
- When you have completed your online application, you will be prompted to pay a non-refundable application fee of $150 CAD
