At a Glance
The Mechanical Engineering with Subsea Technologies programme of the University of Aberdeen follows a similar structure to the straight MEng Mechanical Engineering degree.
The major difference is the compulsory courses in year 5, which include, Pipelines and Soil Mechanics, Subsea Production Systems, Risers Systems and Hydrodynamics.

Subsea engineers tend to specialise in designing for the energy industry, renewables, shipping, and ports working across the full stack from design to delivery. You can work globally for specific companies or become one of the many entrepreneurs capable of offering unique services or a product to the industry in order to innovate.

- Standard: ABB (AB required in Mathematics, plus at least one from Physics, Design & Technology, Engineering or Chemistry).
* FOR CHEMICAL AND PETROLEUM ENGINEERING PROGRAMMES: Please note: For entry to Chemical and Petroleum Engineering an SQA Higher or GCE A Level or equivalent qualification in Chemistry is required for entry to year 1, in addition to the general Engineering requirements.
