The Nautical Science programme encompasses three core components: navigation, cargo operations, and ship operations. To gain entry to the programme, applicants must achieve the required CAO points and meet minimum academic criteria, including a Leaving Certificate with specific grades in five subjects, including Mathematics and either English or Irish. Additionally, candidates must pass medical fitness and eyesight tests mandated by the Irish Maritime Administration. For non-EU applicants, sponsorship by an internationally trading shipping company is essential, along with an IELTS score of 6.5 and adherence to medical requirements.
