Overview
Through the BEcon programme, you will learn to not only evaluate the economic performance of important regional markets but also analyse and understand human behaviour and social interactions. The Economics with Economics and Finance programme from The University of Hong Kong recognises the significance of economics both in its own right and as a foundation for the study of finance.
What You’ll Study
Over four years of study, you will receive training in economic theories, statistical tools, and the practical application of concepts. Both programmes have a single-major curriculum structure that gives you the flexibility to pursue a second major or a combination of minors, provided you meet the requirements.
Professional Recognition
The BEcon&Fin programme is a designated Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) university affiliation programme recognised by the CFA institute. You will cover a significant portion of the CFA Programme Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) to earn a practical, relevant, and thought-provoking investment education. You will also be eligible to apply for a CFA scholarship towards your CFA Level 1 examination.
Career Prospects
The programme will prepare you to excel in a wide variety of careers. Graduates have gone on to secure employment in banks, financial institutions, and major corporations like Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and PwC, among many others. Alternatively, you can pursue a career in government or education, or continue your studies at universities locally or abroad.
