Overview
The objectives of the Computer Science program of the An-Najah National University:
- Provide students with the fundamental skills and knowledge that all computing students must possess.
- Guide students to integrate theory and practice, recognize the importance of abstraction, and to appreciate the value of good design.
- Meet relevant trends in the evolution of the discipline of computer science that became apparent.
- Prepare graduates to succeed in a rapidly changing field.
- Provide students with the flexibility to work across many disciplines.
Student Outcomes
Through the variety of courses and projects, the program will enable students to attain, by the time of graduation:
- An ability to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline
- An ability to analyze a problem, identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution
- An ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs
- An ability to function effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal
- An understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
- An ability to analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society
- Recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in continuing professional development
- An ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practice.
- An ability to apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices.
- An ability to apply design and development principles in the construction of software systems of varying complexity.
Career Opportunities
Computer Science curriculum covers a wide area of jobs opportunities, ranging from theoretical computer science to the use of many of the technical skills that students gained during their study, These opportunities can be summarized in the following categories:
- Work in the field of software development in different areas, that includes the analysis and design of systems, such as database systems, network design, and the development of the Games, and the design and programming of Web sites.
- Work in an educational institution either as a school teacher , laboratory technician, An applications trainer, or an employee of the computer center.
- Work as a technology technician in many government, public institutions, and private companies such as telecom companies, banks, and hospitals.

General requirements
For students who would like to undertake a course (one subject) or an Academic semester (several courses during one academic semester) the procedure is as following:
- Browse the academic programs which are offered, read carefully the courses which are intended,
- Please note that An-Najah University is not responsible for credit transferee to your national academic system. Thus you should transfer these in advance at your home institution.
- Once your selection is clear, you can contact the international relations office in order to process your application inside the university.
- Once you receive the admission confirmation letter you can start obtaining the visa and travel documents, and come to An-Najah.
- After finishing your study, you will be provided by certification documents in English language only, assigned with course/courses description that are needed to support your admission and credit transfer at your home institution.
