Overview
The four-year Chemistry program of the An-Najah National University covers advanced topics with special focus on pure chemistry such as: Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Research Chemistry, Identification and Analysis of Organic compounds, Spectroscopy of Organic Compounds and Synthesis of Organic Compounds without sacrificing Industrial and Polymer Chemistry. Practical Training in schools, chemical industry and/or public sectors that involve chemical activities, are also involved.
Career Opportunities
After completion, the graduate will be able to find job in one of the following fields:
- Careers in Education: Chemist can undertake teaching chemistry in high school, middle school, or industrial schools.
- Governmental institutions and agencies: include working in the field of food security, health, environmental protection and energy.
- Pharmaceutical Companies: including jobs related to quality control, production supervision, sales and marketing.
- Manufacturing and marketing of chemical companies: including work in the field of employment, import, sales and marketing, quality control and production supervision.
- Food processing companies: including work in the field of quality and control, production supervision, marketing and sales. Food industry includes a wide range of products such as soft drinks, bread and biscuits, canned food, sweets, prepared food, baby food and special pet food products.
- Import and production of coatings and plastics companies: including product development, marketing, and development of applied technology. This domain involves a variety of products including paints, solvents and plastics, resins, adhesives, rubbers and other polymers.
- Import and production of personal, baby and household care items: Including quality control and marketing. This domain includes children care items, paper towels, fabrics, special products for soap industries, shampoo, cosmetics, detergents.
- Petroleum industry companies: includes work in the field of research and development, and Earth Sciences and technical support. These companies works in the field of hydrocarbons, oils and lubricants manufacturing, fabrics, fiber and fuel additives, catalysts as well as petroleum products.
- Studies and research institutions, non-governmental organizations: including research assistant jobs in applied and development projects together with feasibility studies of projects.
- Import and marketing of instruments and equipment for chemical analysis companies: includes work in marketing and sale of instruments and equipment and training on the operation of instruments used in chemical analysis laboratories.

General requirements
For students who would like to undertake a course (one subject) or an Academic semester (several courses during one academic semester) the procedure is as following:
- Browse the academic programs which are offered, read carefully the courses which are intended,
- Please note that An-Najah University is not responsible for credit transferee to your national academic system. Thus you should transfer these in advance at your home institution.
- Once your selection is clear, you can contact the international relations office in order to process your application inside the university.
- Once you receive the admission confirmation letter you can start obtaining the visa and travel documents, and come to An-Najah.
- After finishing your study, you will be provided by certification documents in English language only, assigned with course/courses description that are needed to support your admission and credit transfer at your home institution.
