Overview
Through its three specializations – Applied Informatics, Business Informatics, and Software Systems – the Informatics Systems programme at the Vytautas Magnus University aims to prepare broad-minded specialists having fundamental and state-of-the-art knowledge of modern information technologies.
Graduates of the study programme will be able to:
- Apply basic knowledge of mathematics in computer science;
- Apply basic and advanced computer science knowledge in wide spectrum of information technology tasks;
- Demonstrate knowledge of business systems and corresponding software systems;
- Apply basic data analysis, modelling and data management methods;
- Apply knowledge of software lifecycle and its management to the design and support of information technology systems;
- Demonstrate understanding of the importance of in-depth computer science knowledge in designing information technology applications in different fields;
- Carry out interdisciplinary scientific and applied computer science research, apply the obtained research results in practice;
- Formalize and specify real-world problems, describe them in abstract way, employ formal reasoning;
Career opportunities
- Graduates of the programme will be able to work as software developers, software testers, software architects, analysts, project managers, system administrators in different organizations, state institutions and business units.
- Graduates of Informatics may continue with Master studies in Informatics (Computer Science) or Computer Engineering.
