Overview
The mission of the Economics degree at TED University is to endow students with modern economic theory as well as the modern analytical and quantitative methods of economics to help them understand the contemporary economic issues in a cause and effect relationship.
The education philosophy of TEDU featuring a large selection of elective courses, innovative teaching pedagogies, a student centered approach, and a balanced focus on both the depth and extensiveness of knowledge will allow the students to acquire a unique education which will prepare them for their leading roles in their professional lives. Graduates of this programmes will be able to:

- Understand economic theory and modeling approaches
- Organize, absorb, build, analyze and evaluate both qualitative and quantitative data
- Understand the contemporary economic issues in a cause and effect relationship
- Find the problem, simplify it without losing its relevance, and trace its core ideas while drawing logical conclusions
- Suggest solutions and policies to real-life problems.
- Apply quantitative methods and computing techniques across a range of problems
- Critically apply economic reasoning to policy issues
- Be knowledgeable in a number of specialized areas of economics
- Apply analytical and independent thinking
Careers
TED University graduates will have a variety of career opportunities in various sectors and working areas. The structure of the academic curriculum enables the students to be engaged in various interdisciplinary specializations, thereby facilitating their progress towards their targeted career plans.

Nowadays, economics graduates are preferred candidates for employment in various business areas. Public organizations and institutions such as the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry of Economy, the Undersecretariat for the Treasury, the Ministry of Development, the Competition Authority, the Capital Markets Board and the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency; the banking sector; corporations related to foreign trade and consulting companies in addition to international institutions and organizations such as the World Bank, the United Nations, and the International Monetary Fund are among the places that mostly hire economic graduates.
