Programme Structure
Programme Structure:
During the first four semesters students gain the tools to become engineers as they learn the mathematical and scientific basics of Applied Chemistry. In the fourth semester the focus begins on environmental chemisty, life sciences or nuclear chemisty.
In the fifth semester students select a field of specialization from environmental technology, food and consumer protection or nuclear chemisty.
The first half of the sixth semester is devoted to a practical project. The program concludes with a Bachelor's thesis. Graduates may find employment or continue their studies in a Master's program.

International Applicants:
- If you do not meet the admission requirements for the IOS Bachelor's program, you may still be eligible for the Freshman Program, which offers a preparatory year.
- Applicants from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan are among those from countries who must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores that meet our admission requirements, even if your education was completely in English.

Additional Details
The semester fee of approximately 250 euros per semester include the "semester ticket" for free public transportation within the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia. There is no additional tuition fee at this time.
Living costs
Aachen
The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
Tuition is fully subsidized by the German government for excellent international and domestic students. The mandatory semester fee of approximately €250 includes public transportation and other amenities.
The university does not offer scholarships. Some international students are successful in finding scholarships through the German Academic Exchange Service.
Students need about 700 euros per month to cover all living expenses in addition to the tuition and fees.
