Overview

Psychology and Spanish (Hons) degree from the University of Chester will equip you with a broad range of employability skills, including literacy, numeracy, critical appraisal, data handling, and communication and logical problem-solving skills.

Alongside learning about the core areas required for British Psychological accreditation, you will have the option to undertake a five-to-eight-week placement in Spain or Costa Rica at the end of Year 2 (Level 5). You will also have the opportunity to complete an academic year in Spain or Latin America, allowing you to split your experience abroad between two countries and to spend time in both Spain and another Spanish-speaking country. Finally, you will be able to undertake a large-scale dissertation where you will get the chance to apply your psychological and cultural knowledge to a topic within your field of study.

Career

Psychology graduates often go on to postgraduate study in psychology (e.g. cognitive neuroscience, forensic and sport psychology), or have secured a graduate role in industries such as marketing, banking and project management due to their sought-after transferable skills, such as communication, team working, analysis, and creative and critical thinking.
