Overview

At Psychology (Hons) from Edge Hill University you will investigate areas including how learning differs from one person to another and in neurodevelopmental conditions, why psychological and mental illnesses occur and how they can be treated, how memory affects our abilities to recall a crime, and why we use substances and the consequences of substance misuse. Studying in a modern, inclusive and engaging learning environment, you will develop vital career skills of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. You will also be encouraged to join our vibrant student Psychology Society and gain valuable experience working alongside tutors on their research projects.

Careers

This programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) as conferring eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), provided the minimum standard of a lower second class honours is achieved. This is the first step towards becoming a chartered psychologist.

Successful completion of this degree will open a variety of postgraduate training and career opportunities, notably in educational psychology, clinical psychology, work psychology, health psychology and research. Students will also be qualified to enter professions from advertising and the caring professions to teaching (further training required).
