Overview
The Biomedical Engineering programme offered by Isik University focuses on the design and development of biomedical equipment, medical imaging systems, and bioinformatics, preparing graduates to tackle complex challenges in the medical field.

Biomedical engineers work in a wide range of areas, from the design of diagnostic and therapeutic devices and software, to compiling information from many technical sources, developing new processes and conducting research to solve clinical problems. The field of Biomedical Engineering also includes the design, production, development, technical operation and maintenance and repair activities of systems used for diagnosis and treatment in the field of health.
Today, approximately twenty thousand different types of medical devices and systems are used in hospitals and the number of biomedical devices and systems used in our country has doubled seven times in the last twenty years. In our country, it is a legal obligation to have a biomedical unit and biomedical engineer in both public, private and university hospitals.
