On this programme, you will:
- Develop hands-on production arts skills and practices.
- Learn in professional-grade workshops, using specialist tools and equipment.
- Guide your study towards a specific area of interest as you progress through the programme, or maximise your career flexibility by building a broad range of skills across prop making, set construction and scenic painting.
- Build your career network as part of Central’s local and global community of industry-spanning students, alumni and professionals.
This programme is tailored towards individuals passionate about the physical creations that bring theatrical productions, films, TV and live events to life. It is an ideal progression for those from visual arts, technical arts, design & technology, art & design, and product design backgrounds, as well as established creative professionals looking to expand their careers in new directions.
The Production Arts programme develops and supports academically engaged makers. These are people who want to understand why things are done the way they are, not just be shown ‘how-to’ techniques. You will build excellent technical, creative, self-reflective, managerial, and collaborative skills, and position your work in an ethical and environmentally sustainable context.
Designed for everyone who seeks to turn creative vision into reality, this programme powers worlds of visual storytelling.
The three-year BA (Hons) degree programme gives students an in-depth, hands-on education, on the doorstep of London’s West End. You will learn through workshops, projects, lectures, tutorials, live productions, and industry placements—an experience that prepares you for a lifelong career.
