Overview
Within this Dentistry (Hons) BDS programme from the Queen's University Belfast, students are working and learning in clinics which have been redeveloped to a high specification and a state-of-the-art Clinical Techniques Laboratory (CTL) is now used by students throughout the programme.
Career opportunities:
- Students will have the opportunity to undertake clinical placements from year 1 of the course. During their course students will gain experience in a range of clinical settings to help develop their skills and career opportunities.
- Students who successfully complete the BDS programme can apply for full registration with the GDC which allows the registrant to practise as a dentist in the UK if the student fulfils the UK government’s residency requirements.

General requirements
Interview
- All offers are made on the basis of interviews. All candidates will be ranked and a proportion selected for interview. Offers will be made on the results of the interview.
- All applicants, assigned as Northern Ireland (NI), Great Britain (GB) or European Union - Republic of Ireland (EU (ROI)) for fees purposes, are required to sit the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) and the results achieved will be used as part of the selection process prior to interview.
- H1H1H1H1H2H2 including Higher Level grade H1 in Biology and Chemistry + if not offered at Higher Level then Ordinary Level grade O3 in Mathematics.
- 36 points overall including 6 6 6 at Higher Level including Biology and Chemistry + GCSE Mathematics grade C/4 or an equivalent acceptable to the University.
