Psychology as a science is concerned with human behaviour, experience, and consciousness. It explores individual development throughout the lifespan as well as their inner and outer causes and conditions. Its objective is a better understanding of the human being. The preoccupation with scientific methods and results in the Psychology programme at University of Luxembourg constitutes the fundamental qualification for the later professional activity within the field of psychology.
Studying Psychology
The University of Luxembourg offers this study programme since the academic year 2005/06. The studies extend over a period of three years (i.e., six semesters). After finishing the Bachelor programme with a diploma (B.Sc.), a Master’s degree can be pursued.

General requirements
- A higher education entrance qualification i.e. the Luxembourgish "Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires" or an equivalent diploma are a prerequisite for the BAP study programme.
- Applicants with a non-Luxembourgish secondary school leaving certificate (or a secondary school leaving certificate not issued by the "Ministère de l'Education Nationale du Luxembourg") must apply to the Luxembourg Ministry of Education ("Ministère de l'Éducation nationale, de l'Enfance et de la Jeunesse") for equivalence of their certificate.
- The “Bachelor of Science in Psychology” a trilingual programme in the sense that courses are taught in German as well as in French and in English. Most of our courses are taught in just one of those three languages.
- You should have at least a C1-level in German according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as well as at least a B2-level in French and English.
