Key features
The student may also register in the German-French-Luxembourgish Bachelor in Physics organised by the Universities of Luxembourg, Lorraine and Saarland. This trinational study programme, having the aim to combine a highly integrated scientific training to cultural and linguistic values, leads to diplomas at multiple seals.
Objectives
The Physics programme at University of Luxembourg aims at communicating to the student the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand the physical phenomena governing the universe. The students learn how to apply the principles and basic laws of key areas in Physics such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, optics or quantum mechanics.
Besides communicating a broad view of physics and familiarizing the students with the necessary mathematical tools, the program strives to develop each student’s capacity for rigorous, precise and critical thought.
Elective courses reinforce the core program with a wide range of courses such as geophysics, astronomy, programming, physics didactics and language courses, which add to the curriculum with the objective to broaden the students’ scientific and cultural horizon.
