As a first year English major approximately 20% of your first year classes will be related to the study of English with the balance of your program in other required humanities and social sciences courses such as History or Philosophy.
This gives you a well-rounded experience coming into second year at which point you can focus on your particular area of interest, for example, writing, popular culture, and literary theory.
