Overview

At Northumbria University we also provide you with the opportunity to study out of discipline modules with an emphasis on sport management and sport coaching, so if you have an entrepreneurial streak or are interested in teaching following graduation, this is the course for you. With access to a sports laboratory and testing equipment in our specialist sport and teaching facility and a bespoke nutrition kitchen, this is a course that combines practical hands-on training with the latest contemporary research in the field of sport and exercise nutrition to set you up for a career in this area.

• The scientific content of the Sport, Exercise and Nutrition (Hons)  curriculum is aligned with the scientific knowledge requirements and competencies detailed in the Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) and during your studies you’ll be encouraged to critically evaluate existing theory and practice as well as carry out your own independent research.
• During your second year you will have the option to undertake a work placement in a related area, study abroad or take our Year in International Business course, so that you can put your knowledge and skills into practice and gain a wider international experience.
